Philosophy

The Roorkee Adventist Philosophy of Education is Christ-Centeredness. Adventists believe that, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God’s character and purposes can be understood as revealed in the Bible, in Jesus Christ and in nature. The distinctive characteristics of Adventist education derived from the Bible and writings of Ellen G. White points to the redemptive aim of true education: to restore human beings into the image of their Maker. Source: FE 05 10 GC Working Policy 2002, 2003:221.

Goal

Education is the harmonious development of the physical, mental, social and the spiritual powers. It is the work of true education to develop these power, to train the youth to be thinkers, and not mere reflectors of other men’s thoughts. Instead of confining their study to that which men have said or written, let students be directed to the services of truth, to the vast fields opened for research in nature and revelation. Let them contemplate the great facts of duty and destiny, and their minds will expand and strengthen.
